- Tell us what is going on before your appointment, so the session starts with the useful part.
- Meet your dietitian at Mount Hutton or by video, and leave with a plan you can actually start.
- Keep going at your pace, with your GP and wider team kept in the loop.
Funding, rebates and access
Medicare
Rebates are available under a GP Management Plan, and a larger number of visits under an Eating Disorder Plan. Telehealth is rebated at the same rate as in-person care.
NDIS
We work with self-managed and plan-managed participants, and provide training for support teams.
Private health
Many funds cover dietetics under extras. Check your level of cover with your fund before booking.
No referral needed
You can book directly for any service. A referral only affects whether Medicare contributes.

Dietitians in Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and across the Hunter
Ausclin is a dietetics clinic at 18 Wilsons Rd, Mount Hutton NSW 2290, in the Lake Macquarie local government area and about 15 minutes from Newcastle city centre. Our Accredited Practising Dietitians see clients in person there, and by telehealth anywhere in Australia.
Clients travel to us from Charlestown, Belmont, Warners Bay, Cardiff, Windale, Gateshead, Valentine, Eleebana, Kotara and Newcastle, and we work with people across the wider Hunter, the Central Coast and regional NSW by video.

Areas we serve
Telehealth is rebated at the same rate as an in-person visit, so seeing us by video costs you no more than coming in.
Common questions
Do I need a referral?
No. You can book any of our services directly. A referral only matters for Medicare rebates, and we will tell you if one is worth getting.
Can I claim a Medicare rebate?
Often, yes. Rebates are available under a GP Management Plan, an Eating Disorder Plan, or for eligible NDIS and DVA clients. The number of rebated visits depends on the plan.
Do you offer telehealth?
Yes, Australia-wide, and telehealth attracts the same Medicare rebate as an in-person appointment. Many of our clients never come to the clinic at all.
Where are you based?
At Mount Hutton, between Newcastle and the southern shores of Lake Macquarie. We see clients in person there, and by video everywhere else.
How do I know which service I need?
You do not have to work that out first. Get in touch and we will point you to the right starting place, including to someone else if that is a better fit.
Do you work with my GP and other clinicians?
Yes. We work as part of your care team, write back to your referrer, and will always tell you when something needs medical review.
